How Do High Production and Low Production Rates Work?
With The Solar Club™, you get paid for the energy you send into the grid at the same rate you pay when you pull energy from the grid. That’s why timing your rate switches is key to maximizing your solar savings.
- Spring & Summer (March – October): Longer days mean more sunlight, and that extra solar power gets sent to the grid. By switching to the High Production Rate, you get paid more for every kilowatt-hour you export.
- Fall & Winter (October – March): Shorter days mean less solar production, and you’ll likely use more energy than you generate. At this point, switching to the Low Production Rate – which aligns with our standard electricity rates – helps you keep costs down.
